Tell us a bit a little bit about your role with Storm. What does a normal week look like for you?
I
don’t think there is any such thing as a normal week in the world of
fashion retailing …. As the GM, I’m responsible for the entire operation
of Storm which is predominantly creative and sales! Because we deliver
new product each week our production schedule is extremely demanding it
makes up a large part of my day – signing off fabrics, creating new
styles and generally ensuring our product is at the standard our
customer expects.
You get to travel all around the world with your role, what do you find to be the main challenges for your skin when you are travelling?
I
am fortunate that I do get to travel with my business, it keeps me
inspired and up to date with what is happening in fashion around the
world …. The big challenge with my skin is dehydration... A lot of time
on aeroplanes and sometimes in cities with a lot of pollution. It can be
difficult keeping up with my regular skincare routine as well due to
long days and early starts... I always book in for a good peel and Babor
Vitamin facial on my return.
Do you have a favourite spa overseas that you have visited?
Unfortunately
I don’t get time when I’m working – but on the odd occasion I have, I
find the hotel spas in HK to be of a very high standard. I also frequent
Fiji when I manage to get away and enjoy spas at the resorts!
Do you have a favourite destination that you like to travel to and why?
Two
favourites would have to be NY and Italy – NYC for its hustle, the
people are cool and energy is inspiring – Italy for its romance and
beauty – old buildings, great food and very stylish locals ….
What do you find works the best for boosting your skin in terms of facial treatments?
My skin responds extremely well to Babor Vitamin Infusion facials
– I have one of these every month, followed by a light therapy
treatment, which stimulates collagen growth and really does make my skin
glow.
Do you have any favourite skincare products that you use at home?
Once a week I use a Babor AHA Peel and each day 2 Babor serums Vitamin C for the morning and Vitamin A16 at night.
Anything new in the skincare area that has caught your attention lately?
I recently purchased a hand held light therapy machine (Lightstim)
that I can use at home – it’s incredible …In fact, I’m addicted to it! I
use it nearly every day, and have started to notice a difference in the
tone of my skin … it’s great for your face, neck and hands as well.
Is there anything you do diet wise or take supplement wise to care for your skin?
I
take a Swisse multi vitamin every day and of course ‘try’ to drink a
lot of water. I’ve always thought a great smile and a positive attitude
always encourages healthy wellbeing.
You’ve got a really busy life, what do you enjoy doing to relax?
DRINK …. Lol!
I tend to recharge by exercising… it’s an important part of my routine.
Helps me sleep well and feel energised. When I do have down time I
enjoy catching up with friends and having a nice glass of wine.
